Six Months

It’s hard to believe its been six months since Bradley started EI. He has come a long way in six months too. When Bradley was referred to EI he could not sit and he didn’t have the strength or resistance in his lower body. He was a poor eater and didn’t sleep.

Now here we are six months later and he is eating and sleeping wonderfully. The only goal he has not obtained is he isn’t beginning to walk yet. This hasn’t been a huge concern for me because he has been pulling up and cruising for a while now. Today I realized in a month he will be 15 months old so beginning to walk is something he needs to obtain soon.

The other thing we talked about was his speech. Bradley says several one syllable words but not any two syllable words. We are going to have a speech evaluation and see where he is and what we need to do next. I do know the first thing is going to be getting rid of his paci. Bradley generally uses it to calm himself and for sleep. I am going to start taking it away from him during the day so he will hopefully only have it at nap time and bedtime. I know this will be a challenge for both of us.

I am so proud of him and his progress. But it’s kind of sad to know we will have one more OT appointment and then we will be done with OT. We will defiantly miss Adria.

Blog Updates

Please bear with me over the next few days.  I am working on some changes to the blog and some  updates that will make everything look more uniform.  My OCD has kicked in and well I need everything to match.  =)  I promise to not make it too crazy looking while I am making my changes.

Monday Memories #9

The last few weeks have been crazy busy. We finally got a new car. We got a Honda Pilot and it was like a two day thing. We liked two and were trying to decide between the two. We did a lot of comparing, reading the fine lines and finally made a decision.

Alyssa had a field trip to DeSoto Caverns. I took lots of pictures with my camera but just like my Easter pictures, I haven’t had time to hook my camera up to the computer. Hopefully I’ll get a chance to post more about it soon. Bradley had lots of fun and seemed to really enjoy it. He was too busy checking everything out to nap.

Taylor had a field trip to the zoo. Same thing with those pictures too. I did snap one of Bradley with my phone when he fell asleep in the stroller. I still can’t believe he did that.

Bradley and I went to Botanical Gardens for litigation lunch the week of Administrative Professional’s Day. It was so nice outside that day.

Bradley and I have been enjoying the outdoors a lot lately. We had a picnic lunch outside one day. We went to the park with the big kids two days in a row. We are so ready for summer.

Summer Water Bottles

When Adam and I were shopping for Easter baskets, I grabbed a few things for summer. I found these cute water bottles at Michael’s for a dollar or two. I thought they would be prefect and I could use vinyl to put their names on them. While I was putting their names on them Noah said they needed something else in all the empty space. So the boys got a star and the girls got a heart.

They are all so excited about them and ready to use them. It’s hard to get a good picture of them showing all of their names. Bradley’s name is so long it pretty much goes all the way around the bottle.

Friday Food #9

I have decided to do something a little different with my Friday Food post. Instead of telling you what we ate this past week I am going to tell you what we are eating this next week so menu planning but on Friday (for now). I am debating on changing my blogging schedule.

A few days ago the children and I sat down to talk about what they want to eat next week. Generally I don’t cook on the weekends, I just need a break. So I didn’t plan tonight or Saturday night and now I am sitting here going what is for dinner tonight?? Oops!!!

This is what we came up with for next week:

Sunday – Grilled chicken and vegetables. Last weekend we put carrots, broccoli and onions in some foil on the grill with the chicken and it was soooo good. So I decided we’d have it again this week and since Adam works the grill Sunday sounded like the best day.

Monday – Waffles, bacon, hash browns and eggs. Alyssa picked this meal and I was so surprised that she picked eggs.

Tuesday – Pizza and cheese bread. Kids like it and its easy so it works.

Wednesday – Spaghetti, breadsticks and salad. We had spaghetti last week and Bradley loved it so when Noah suggested it, I agreed. But I decided to add salad.

Thursday – Veggies and cornbread. I needed one more meal and the girls were saying snacks and fruit. So when Noah started naming veggies I thought hmmm let’s add some cornbread and it sounds good to me.

I probably need a meal for Friday too but hopefully it will only be me, Adam and Bradley and we can go on a date. Hint, hint!! In case Adam is reading this. 🙂

Since its getting to be nice weather and more fruit is coming into season I have decided I am going to start making a big bowl of cut fruit on the weekends to have during the week for a snack or something extra to go with dinner. I am sure Taylor will be excited about this because when I asked her for a meal idea she said I don’t know. Then later came back and said fruit. What are some of your favorite fruits to eat during the summer months??

Learning to Embroidery

As you know I got an embroidery machine for Christmas, I have slowly been trying to learn how to use it. I have all these cute things I want to make the kids but I’ll be honest, it’s harder than just hooping the fabric and pressing a button. Hooping the fabric can be HARD. I want to monogram t-shirts for the girls. That sounds simple enough, NO! Knit fabric does not stay put very well. Anyway, today I spent some time practicing because I bought some bags I want to monogram for summer. I was pleased with the girls the first time I did it. Yay!!

The boys, not so much! First I tried these. My machine messed up several times and it shows. Noah didn’t really care for this one with his name since the big “N” is not capital but this font does the big “N” like that. OCD little boy!!

But the big letter is wider than what I want so I won’t be using this one for Bradley either.

Next I tried this font. Noah likes it and wants it but I do not like it. My machine messed up when I was doing Noah but not when I was doing Bradley so I know this is not the one.

Finding a cute boyish font that I like is hard. Hopefully I’ll have better luck when I go back to looking for a font. What font do you use for boy stuff??

Where Am I

Lets face it, I know I have not being doing well with my blogging lately. The truth is I haven’t had much time. I haven’t had much time to craft and I haven’t had much time to blog. I thought once all our doctors appointments slowed down that life would be less hectic but I was wrong. Between school events and field trips, waiting on Charter or delivery people, working, buying a car and Adam having surgery life has been cRaZy!! I realized the other day that things will not slow down till after school is out so is it May yet?? I am planning to be in next seasons So You Think You’re Crafty and I asked Adam the other night, “Am I going to have time to do it?” But he assured me that I will.

Recently in crafting I have learned that I love to paint. I have a project I have been working on but I’m saving it in case it fits in any of the categories for so you think you’re crafty. If it doesn’t I’ll post it sooner. I am trying to get back to using my embroidery machine, but it seems like every time I start something stops me and I can’t get back to it. I have a few unfinished projects that I need to finish.

Last week I went to DeSoto Caverns with Alyssa. It was lots of fun and I took tons of pictures so I’ll have to post about it soon. This week I am going to the zoo with Taylor. It will be Bradley’s first zoo trip. Noah’s field trip was a children only field trip.

Work has been busy, busy!! I am getting ready to go into the office everyday for a week while Laney is on vacation. Of course Bradley will be with me so that will show us how he would do in the office more often. We have talked about me having my own office again.

I finally got a new car!! Yay!! We got a Honda Pilot. The kids are loving the DVD player and I am loving the 3rd row.

Hopefully in the next week I will finish more of my projects and get to post lots more.

Monday Memories #8

Last Monday was so pretty!! After I got everything done around the house and some work Bradley and I went outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. He had some play time while I did some painting. We even sat on the front porch and waited on the kids to get off the school bus.

Bradley never cared to play in his jumperoo when he was younger but now that he is older he is always pulling up on it and playing with the toys on it so I decided to put him in it.

Bradley loves to look out the front door and watch for the big kids to get off the school bus.

Kitchen Labeling

This project started about two years ago. I decided I wanted to decorate my kitchen and living room in red and black and ladybugs so I painted my bread box and glass jar lids and holder black and red. Actually Adam painted those for me when they were originally painted.

I wish I had a picture of them from before he painted them but at that point I was not thinking about taking pictures of stuff for blogging.

Fast forward two years and I have finally decided to finish this project. The only thing is the paint needed to be touched up. So I reprinted the black. When everything was originally painted we were thinking and used flat paint. This time I used a semi-gloss on the black. Then I used my Cricut and cut out vinyl letters for:

AP Flour
SR Flour

AP standing for all purpose and SR standing for self rising.

After I put the vinyl lettering on my lids I used mod podge on top of it and on the knob to give the red a glossy look. I didn’t put mod podge over my lettering on the bread box. To give the knob on the bread box a glossy look I used mod podge on it.

It may have taken me two years to finally finish it but I was so pleased with how it finally looks.
